Saint Ann Sewing Club Keeps Everyone In Stitches
Saint Ann Sewing Club keeps everyone in stitches. This incredible club was founded by Saint Ann Assisted Living resident Anna Gateley. Mrs. Gateley has been in sewing circles for most of her life. She was featured on the Ida B show on Channel 5 many years ago representing Hancock Fabrics. She also taught classes in the Metropolitan Library System and the Vo-Tech Systems. She is a wonderful teacher and can take a sewing machine apart and rebuild it in record time. She spearheaded a drive to get several sewing machines donated to Saint Ann's and she was able to get them all up and running. Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Gateley has made over 200 quilts. Recently, she displayed several of her quilts at a quilt show at Saint Ann's. Everyone marvels at her giftedness and leadership as a teacher.
Saint Ann Sewing Club meets every Tuesday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the sewing room on the 2nd floor of Assisted Living. If you are interested in joining the club, please call Tereasa Overton, Activity Director for Assisted Living, at 721-0747.
